Born in Swissvale, Pennsylvania, in 1953, Doyle graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Community Development in 1975. Doyle served as a member of the Swissvale Borough Council from 1977 to 1981, and he also worked as a legislative aide in the Pennsylvania State Senate from 1979 to 1994. Doyle was elected to the US House of Representatives in 1994, and has served in the House ever since. Doyle represents Pennsylvania's 18th congressional district and is currently up for reelection in 2020.
